Issues

Housing

Like the rest of the nation, Geneva has a housing crisis. We have too few rentals and homes, and what does exist is frequently too expensive. As Ward 2 Councillor, I will work with the rest of City Council to promote housing development, incentivize property owners to improve the quality of their rentals, and achieve a balance between short-term rentals that support our economy and the families who live here.

Focus on Hamilton St / 5&20

While downtown is the economic center of Geneva, we also need to support the gateway corridor along Hamilton St. The comprehensive plan calls for significant improvements along Hamilton St, but none of the recommendations have been put in place. As Ward 2 Councillor, I will work with City Council to ensure that these safety, aesthetic, and zoning improvements are prioritized for Ward 2 residents and all Genevans living and working along Hamilton St.

Data-Driven Governance

Geneva is unique, but many of our greatest challenges and opportunities are ones that have been faced by similar communities across the country. Good governance requires that the City Council is setting a clear strategy and defining how it is measuring success and progress. Even better, we should be working with similar communities to find common approaches and learn what works (and what doesn’t). As Ward 2 councillor, I will work with the City Council to ensure that we have a comprehensive data strategy and maximize transparency to our constituents on how the City Council is performing.
